Enterprise Resource Planning
As the company grew, each department developed their own in-house applications to handle day-to-day operations. Beyond the simple decentralized nature that evolved, the lack of consistency in terminology, UI design, and feature set made for accounting nightmares and greatly hindered any cross-marketing opportunities.
To replace these legacy Microsoft Access-based systems, we developed a robust web application using Pylons and Ext JS, maintaining the multi-window environment of the former Access counterparts while bringing all company data and accounting features under a single roof. As a result, departments benefited from common feature sets and a standard, company-wide terminology and UI design, allowing users to move between departmental-specific applications with no significant learning curve.
